At Vietnam B2B Direct, we believe in the power of corporate responsibility to transform lives and communities. For the past 2 years, we have proudly supported two local Kon Tum Orphanages – Vinh Son 1 Orphanage (185 Children ages Newborns to 25 years of age) and Vinh Son 2 (180+ Children ages 3 years – 25 years) located in Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
With our own funds and Donations from Employees, Family Members, Friends and Customers various initiatives have provided the essentials for living, including food, bedding, hot water, heat and hydro, drilled water well, new roofs, solar lighting panels, guitars and music teacher training, sewing machines and teacher training, essential life skills training and other opportunities for the children. Over $30,000 have been spent improving these Children with no mothers or fathers to support them.
This year, we are excited to announce the launch of two new programs: Swimming Classes and a Sewing Program.
Swimming Classes: Tackling the High Rates of Drowning
Vietnam has one of the highest rates of child drowning in the world, a heartbreaking statistic that we are determined to change. Recognizing the critical need for water safety education, we have started offering swimming classes to the children in our sponsored orphanages. These classes not only teach essential swimming skills and emphasize water safety practices, aiming to reduce the risk of drowning and save young lives but also provide the Children with Recreational Fun!
Program Highlights:
- Certified Instructors: Our swimming classes are led by certified instructors who specialize in teaching children.
- Comprehensive Curriculum: The program covers basic swimming techniques, water safety rules, and rescue skills.
- Community Impact: By equipping these children with swimming skills, we are not only ensuring their safety but also building their confidence and promoting physical fitness.
Sewing Program: Empowering Children with Life Skills
In addition to our Swimming Classes, we have introduced a Sewing Program designed to teach the children valuable life skills. This initiative aims to provide them with practical skills that can open doors to employment opportunities in the future, particularly in Vietnam’s thriving textile and garment industry.
Program Highlights:
- Experienced Trainer: The sewing program is conducted by an experienced Vietnamese Fashion Dress Designer who has years of expertise in the textile industry.
- Hands-On Training: Children receive hands-on training in using sewing machines, understanding fabric types, and basic garment construction. They are currently making scrunchies with the hopes to create a social enterprise that helps fund the orphanages.
- Career Opportunities: By learning these skills, the children will be better prepared to secure jobs in factories and other related fields, giving them a path to financial independence.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Our support for these Orphanages goes beyond these two programs. Over the past 2 years, we have provided resources, mentorship, and financial assistance to help improve the living conditions and educational opportunities for the children. Our commitment to these initiatives reflects our core values of community engagement and social responsibility.
